Publishing Ethics and Integrity

Prime Medical College Journal (PMCJ) is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in the publication of quality research. Our rigorous publishing process follows conscientious, systematic, and transparent practices to ensure the integrity of all published work. PMCJ adheres to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Code of Conduct, available at www.publicationethics.org.

Editors’ Responsibilities

Editors make impartial decisions on all peer-reviewed submissions based on their scientific merit.

Transparency and adherence to ethical standards are priorities, including the publication of corrections, retractions, or errata when needed.

Manuscripts are evaluated based solely on their intellectual content, irrespective of the authors’ race, gender, origin, or religion.

Editors ensure the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts throughout the publication process.

Any instances of suspected misconduct are investigated promptly to maintain research integrity.

Reviewers’ Responsibilities

Reviewers provide thorough, constructive, and unbiased evaluations of the manuscript’s scientific content within the agreed timeline.

Manuscripts are assessed for relevance, originality, clarity, and accuracy.

Confidentiality is maintained throughout the review process.

Reviewers disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from reviewing manuscripts with potential conflicts.

Ethical concerns, such as plagiarism or improper treatment of subjects, are reported to the editor for investigation.

Authors’ Responsibilities

Authors must submit original work that is free from plagiarism and not published or under review elsewhere.

Any potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed.

Proper acknowledgments and permissions must be provided for any third-party content.

Only individuals who have significantly contributed to the research and manuscript preparation should be credited as authors.

Authors must adhere to ethical standards in their research, including the treatment of human and animal subjects.

Publishers’ Responsibilities

PMCJ collaborates with editors to ensure clarity in roles and adherence to proper editorial procedures.

The journal safeguards the originality, integrity, and independence of each published article, including considerations for ethics, conflicts of interest, and confidentiality.

PMCJ commits to maintaining the integrity of the publication process and ensuring timely dissemination of high-quality research.
